Dr. Brian S. Christine
At the 2011 meeting of the American Urologic Association, Dr. Christine was appointed to the governing board of the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons. This honor is doubly important, as he now serves as the liaison for the Prosthetic Society in its interactions and association with the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. These two groups represent the largest organizations for accomplished prosthetic surgeons, and for urologists who specialize in male sexual medicine.
Dr. Christine's special area of interest is urologic prosthetics. This includes the treatment of erectile dysfunction (both surgical and nonsurgical) and male urinary incontinence. Dr. Christine is an active investigator and has presented research papers and studies at urologic meetings. He is also an active educator. He has conducted multiple patient education seminars, lectured to urologists and primary care doctors concerning the treatment of erectile dysfunction and incontinence, and instructed nearly 100 urologists, both nationally and internationally, demonstrating his surgical techniques of implanting penile prostheses and male slings as well as treating complex prosthetic cases.
Dr. Christine is board certified. He is a member of the American Urologic Association, the Society of Prosthetic Urologists, and the sexual medicine society of North America.
Dr. Brian Christine graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in 1991. He then completed his internship in surgery and his residency in urology at the University of Alabama. In addition to his urologic training, Dr. Christine completed one year of training in anesthesiology including post surgical pain management. He joined Urology Centers of Alabama in 1998.
